Garden #2 - planting
FInally, I planted three globe artichoke plants I bought a while ago from the Bus Depot Markets, and some broccolini seedlings. Around the two tripods I planted snow pea seeds. Plenty of room for other things as well as it's 4.5 m long.

Hi Liesa
just wondered how your garden bed was going now? I'd love to read about / see some updates:-)

Wow, a comment! :) I'll post some more pics.
Lesson #1 I've learned - don't use chopped up leaves as mulch as they blew away very quickly. The plants didn't really grow over winter, so could have waited till Spring. I have gotten one artichoke from each plant, but the broccolini when straight to seed when the weather warmed up. Three out the eight snow pea plants took off; have planted replacements for the others. Have planted more things now and lettuce has done the best, though zucchini are starting to fruit. Overall however, my in-ground vegetable garden is doing a lot better than any of my mound gardens (of which I have three).
